[ Why mentoring ]

Courses teach syntax. Mentors teach judgment.

The internet has no shortage of WordPress tutorials — what it lacks is someone to tell you which ones matter, review the code you actually wrote, and answer the question the course never covered. Research consistently shows mentored developers progress faster, and the reason is simple: feedback on your work beats generic lessons about someone else’s.

Mentoring here is built around your goal — first developer job, freelance practice, or finally understanding the site you own. Sessions work on real projects: your portfolio, your theme, your client work, with code review between sessions so momentum never dies on a Tuesday-night error message. Because I am a working developer, you learn current practice — including how AI tooling is genuinely changing the job — not 2018’s curriculum.

For businesses, hands-on workshops teach your team to run the site you paid for: editing safely, publishing content that supports SEO, and knowing what never to touch. Site handover training is the difference between owning a website and being afraid of it. Book a free 15-minute intro call and we will find the right format — no obligation, no curriculum upsell.

Six months of mentoring did more than two years of courses. I shipped my first paid site in month three.

Mentoring questions, answered honestly

How much does mentoring or training cost?

Mentoring is a simple per-session or monthly rate agreed up front — no packages of hours that expire, no contracts. Team workshops are quoted fixed by group size and topics. The intro call is free and carries no obligation.

Can a complete beginner benefit from mentoring?

+

Yes — arguably most. Beginners waste the most time on wrong turns: outdated tutorials, tool rabbit holes, skipped fundamentals. A mentor’s main value early on is the path itself, plus unsticking you fast when you hit walls.

What topics can we cover?

+

WordPress theme development, PHP, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, SEO, site performance, freelancing practice (quoting, clients, scope) and practical AI tooling. The plan follows your goal — job-ready, freelance-ready, or self-sufficient with your own site.

How is this different from an online course?

+

Courses are content; mentoring is feedback. You bring real code and real problems, and get review, correction and direction specific to you — from someone shipping client work with these tools every week. Most mentees pair the two: courses for input, mentoring for judgment.

Do you train teams on managing their own website?

+

Yes — hands-on workshops on your actual site: editing safely, publishing SEO-friendly content, understanding maintenance, and knowing what not to touch. Recorded, so new staff can be trained without booking me twice.
